Why not upgrade to Energy Efficient?
It may seem feasible to upgrade your HVAC system instead of purchasing a new energy-efficient HVAC unit. Unfortunately, because of the complexity of dampers, supply and exhaust fans, dehumidifiers, heating and cooling coils plus a host of sensors and filters, a complete breakdown of a unit would have to be done. Replacing the parts that make up the system isn't so cheap after all.
Opportunities for the greatest HVAC system efficiency exist during the design stage of a unit. The difference will become evident after a new unit starts cutting those energy bills.
