Installing Adjustable-speed Drives on HVAC Equipment
Adjustable-speed drives or ASDs can be installed on recirculating fans that stay in tune with the flow and pressure requirements of air handling systems. This procedure eliminates the constant movement of fans running at full speed. With less power used to power fans, less energy is consumed.
ASDs have proven significant over the past 20 years by allowing a higher degree of control over the operation. This is one area where existing machines benefit by being retrofit with a more controllable and energy efficient system.
